CHINA CHENGDA ENGINEERING CO.,LTD. is an engineering company based in Chengdu, China, with roots as the former Chemical Industry Ministry’s Eighth Design Institute. The company provides project engineering and construction services across chemical and energy industries, combining advanced technologies introduced through long-term cooperation with internationally well-known companies with in-house innovation.
With a strong focus on process and engineering development, Chengda works with domestic scientific research institutes and colleges on project-based R&D, building a portfolio of proprietary technologies, know-how, and patents. Key strengths include engineering design for soda ash, chlor-alkali, ammonia, methanol, formaldehyde, and tricyan chloride production plants.
Chengda has long-term experience in methanol plant engineering design, beginning in the early 1960s and expanding from high-pressure, small-scale projects to broader process solutions suitable for different plant scales. In 1984, Chengda developed a Low Pressure Methanol Process, supported by a 6,000 tpy demonstration plant that entered successful operation in January 1987 and received a State 2nd Class Prize for Science & Technology Progress.
