TIANJIN ALSTOM HYDROPOWER CO., LTD. is a joint venture established by ALSTOM SA and Tianjin Power Equipment Manufactory (TPEM), specializing in the manufacture of turbine‑generator units for hydropower applications.
Since its creation, the company has carried out technical rehabilitation of its facilities and upgraded key workshops and machining capacity, including the coil workshop and heavy-duty CNC equipment, to strengthen production capability.
Operating from a 105,000 sqm plant with a staff force of over 1400, the facility is equipped with modern CNC technology and supports hydropower projects across major turbine types, supplying an integrated package that includes turbine, generator, governor, excitation, auxiliaries, and computerized control & supervising systems.

ALSTOM Power France decided to reorganize Alstom (Tianjin) Energy System Co., Ltd. (ATES) from the Stream segment to the Hydro segment to strengthen China hydro business.
2004Capital injection and registered capital increase
With further capital injection from ALSTOM, registered capital increased to 54.189 million US dollars, and ALSTOM’s share reached 99%.
