Baoji Equipment manufactures electrified railway and urban rail transit catenary power-supply equipment, combining R&D, production, testing, and system integration at scale.
Baoji Equipment Co., Ltd. of China Railway Electrification Bureau Group is a state-owned, medium-sized enterprise specializing in electrified railway and urban rail transit power-supply equipment. Established alongside construction of China’s first electrified railway (Pou Line, Baofeng segment) in 1958, the company focuses on catenary parts and related power-supply fittings, supported by integrated R&D, manufacturing, testing, and system-integration capabilities.
The company supplies a broad portfolio for rail electrification and metro systems, including electrified railway catenary parts, steel columns, electrical fittings, substation equipment, construction tools, and urban rail transit power-supply fittings such as steel–aluminum conductor rails, busbars, sensor boards, and lightning arresters. The range spans more than 2,000 product varieties and over 5,000 specifications, covering standard and customer-specific requirements.
With a site area of 275 acres and fixed assets of nearly RMB 90 million, Baoji Equipment operates multiple production bases and a holding subsidiary. Its manufacturing resources include precision forging, precision casting, CNC machining, riveting and welding, and surface treatment, supported by more than 400 units of production equipment. Capacity is stated to support catenary equipment needs for 3,000 km of electrified railway and 350 km of urban rail transit annually.
Baoji Equipment serves major rail projects and has supplied catenary equipment for more than 32,000 km of electrified railway construction in China, reported as over 70% of total demand. Entering the urban rail transit sector in 1996, it reports cumulative supply exceeding 90% of demand for power-supply fittings. Products have also been exported in batches to Hong Kong, Iran, Uzbekistan, and other markets.
