CHINA GENERAL TECHNOLOGY (GROUP) HOLDING,LIMITED (Genertec) is a wholly state-owned enterprise officially launched in March 1998 with approval from the State Council. Formed through China’s strategic restructuring of state-owned foreign trade enterprises, the group consolidated six subordinate companies to create a large-scale, specialized and integrated business platform.

The group’s roots combine long-established foreign trade organizations, including China National Technical Import and Export Corp, China National Machinery Import and Export (Group) Corp, China National Instruments Import and Export Corp, China National Corporation for Overseas Economic Corporation, China National Medicine and Health Products Import and Export Corp, and China International Advertising Corp. This integration strengthened resource coordination, improved competitiveness, and enhanced risk resilience.

In addition to its core foreign trade operations, Genertec has broadened into new business areas. Through strategic investment and mergers and acquisitions, it has established an initial development platform spanning research, manufacturing, and trade of medical products, while also advancing activities in financial services and real estate development.
