CGIA advances graphene industrialization through a nationwide consortium that connects material innovation with real-world applications across the graphene value chain.
China Innovation Alliance of the Graphene Industry (CGIA) is a graphene-focused consortium established on July 13, 2013 with the support of multiple Chinese government bodies and guidance from industry–university–research organizations. It brings together industrial enterprises and academic institutes to accelerate graphene innovation, commercialization, and standardization.
With more than 140 members spanning graphene materials and applications, CGIA supports its members in building complete industry-chain collaboration and aligning development with market needs. The alliance actively safeguards industry interests by participating in policy engagement and standard setting, while promoting long-term cooperation between upstream and downstream partners.
CGIA also organizes the China International Graphene Innovation Conference (GRAPCHINA), a global event platform for technology exchange and industry connection. GRAPCHINA has been held successfully for nine years from 2014 to 2022, and the 2025 conference is scheduled for November 14–16, 2025 in Wenzhou (Yueqing), China, featuring themed forums and a concurrent materials application expo to foster cross-border collaboration across the graphene supply chain.
CGIA brings together members across graphene materials and application fields, including heaters, anticorrosive coatings, lubricants, composites, and enhanced textiles.
CGIA supports members in focusing on applications and the full industry chain, keeping pace with market development, and strengthening collaboration between upstream and downstream partners.
CGIA works to safeguard industry interests by participating in policy-related work and advancing standardization to support healthy, high-quality growth of the graphene sector.
