QINHUANGDAO GLASS INDUSTRY RESEARCH AND DESIGN INSTITUTE (QGRDI) provides engineering design, EPC delivery, and intelligent equipment for flat glass and photovoltaic glass production lines.
QINHUANGDAO GLASS INDUSTRY RESEARCH AND DESIGN INSTITUTE (QGRDI) is one of China’s earliest-established glass industry research and design institutions. Founded in 1953 and later relocated from Beijing to Qinhuangdao in 1971, the institute has developed into a comprehensive high-technology service enterprise integrating scientific research, engineering technology services, new-technology promotion, and intelligent equipment manufacturing.
QGRDI focuses on end-to-end engineering services for glass production lines, including engineering design, domestic and international EPC general contracting, installation and commissioning, and start-up support. It also develops proprietary technologies and complete sets of equipment for flat glass production lines, and provides engineering design, technical renovation, project contracting, and project supervision services for industrial and civil construction.
With deep technical heritage in float glass and continuous innovation in energy-saving and environmental solutions, QGRDI supports clients with integrated capabilities spanning process technology, plant engineering, and specialized systems such as furnace composite insulation, diversified combustion, waste-gas treatment, and waste-heat power generation projects.

Established as one of China’s earliest glass-industry research and design institutions.
Moved from Beijing to Qinhuangdao to support the growth of China’s glass industry.
QGRDI combines process innovation with practical engineering execution, supporting glass manufacturers with proprietary technologies, turnkey project delivery, and specialized equipment for stable, efficient production-line operation.
Building on long-standing experience in flat-glass engineering, QGRDI develops and applies dedicated technologies and equipment for float-glass production lines, supporting large-scale industrial deployment.
On an EPC-contracted project, a production line successfully produced 1.6 mm ultra-thin float glass, integrating solutions such as one-furnace dual-line float technology, advanced composite insulation, oxygen-fuel combustion, and bubbling techniques.
The glass furnace Q-SCTIS™ super composite insulation system is applied in engineering projects to support reduced surface temperature and improved energy efficiency in operation.
