DONGFENG AUTOMOBILE CO., LTD. operates the Foundry Branch (originally Foundry No.3 DFM), established in October 1984 and covering 380,000 m². The operation focuses on key automotive castings, including major components for Cummins B series engines as well as castings for automobile chassis and gearbox-related parts.

Core products include cylinder blocks and cylinder heads for Cummins 6B and 4B engines, along with exhaust manifolds, crankshafts, gearbox shells, and clutch housings. The foundry is built for scale, with an annual casting capacity of 40,000 tons.

To support consistent quality and complex thin-wall casting requirements, the facility is equipped with a Switzerland-made high-pressure +GF+ moulding line, sand treatment systems from Japan (Sinto) and Germany (Eirich), shot-blasting capability from the U.S., and a range of melting, core-making, and metallurgical testing equipment. Its quality management system is established in line with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards, with ISO 9001 certifications achieved in both 1994 and 2000 versions.

The foundry’s casting technology and achievements include recognition for the domestic production research project of the Cummins 6BT cylinder block, and its casting products have been registered under the “DongFeng Wintersweet” brand since 2002, reflecting a long-term commitment to brand building and customer-focused quality improvement.
