Movements
Movement Selection
Middle- and high-grade grandfather clocks can be made with German 12-rod gong cable-driven movements, German 8-rod gong chain-driven movements, or German bim-bam gong strike movements. General grandfather clocks, wall clocks, and table clocks can use Chinese mechanical spring-driven movements as well as imported or domestic quartz movements. Cuckoo clocks typically use quartz movements.
