China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) is a large, centrally administered state-owned high-tech enterprise and a backbone organization within China’s national science and technology industry. Originating from the Fifth Academy of the Ministry of Defense in 1956, the group has evolved through multiple organizational stages and names to become today’s integrated aerospace and defense corporation.

CASIC is a major developer and manufacturer of missile weapon systems, with comprehensive capabilities spanning the R&D and production of air defense missile systems, cruising missile systems, solid-propellant rockets, and space-related technological products. Its technology and product portfolio extends across land, sea, air, space, and electromagnetic fields, supporting a wide range of national missions.

Guided by the concept of “broad defense and safety,” CASIC advances integrated military–civilian development by translating core technologies into solutions for information industry and equipment manufacturing. The group’s civil applications include systems and equipment designed for anti-counterfeiting and tax control, public safety assurance, and emergency rescue—supporting major events and responses to large-scale disasters while strengthening national capabilities.
